Delivery and Returns

These Terms and Conditions apply to deliveries fulfilled by AL K Wines. Sometimes, we may use a courier.

1. Introduction

AL K Wines is a family-run business based in South Herefordshire. Currently we offer local delivery within the county. For orders delivered by AL K Wines, we have taken steps to ensure consistent, efficient service, which also aims to minimise our carbon footprint where possible.

Sometimes, we may hand over deliveries to a courier. On these occasions, we will notify you which courier and provide you with a tracking link and number once we have handed over the order. Users are encouraged to check the couriers terms and conditions once their order has been handed over.

2. Delivery methods and rates

We currently offer local delivery only within the county of Herefordshire.

2.1 Standard Local Delivery (currently within Herefordshire only)

Orders of less than £75: £4.95

Orders of £75 or more: Free

2.2 Orders For Addresses Outside of Herefordshire

Purchases are currently restricted to Herefordshire postcodes (HR1, HR2, HR3, HR4, HR5, HR6, HR7, HR8, HR9). If you would like to make an order to be delivered elsewhere, please get in touch using our contact form. Any such order will need to valued at or greater than £75. We can also cater to hospitality venues, events, weddings and more.

3. Delivery Times

We aim to fulfil all orders within 4 working days, most deliveries are fulfilled using a single vehicle so we aim to minimise wait times, as well as environmental impact when planning delivery routes.

  1. Once customers have placed an order with us using our online shop, they can expect to receive their delivery within a maximum of 4 working days.
  2. AL K Wines working days are Monday to Friday. Weekends, public holidays, christmas eve, and New Years Eve are not considered working days, but deliveries may be made depending on business levels.

4. General Delivery Terms

The circumstances in which we find ourselves have led many businesses to alter the way the operate and we too will take every precaution we can to ensure the health and safety of our customers is not compromised. As such we have set out the following procedure to mitigate any risk to our customers and ourselves, as well as those we work with.

  1. Requests to leave orders containing alcohol in a safe place or with a neighbour will not be accepted.
  2. The person accepting the delivery must be aged 18 or over and possess valid proof of age if they appear to be under 25.
  3. We will not enter any home or other private property, unless it is also open to other members of the public.
  4. Alcohol deliveries may not be made to public places, the delivery address must be a residential or business premises.

5. Returns

As we currently fulfil deliveries ourselves, we will always ensure products are not damaged prior to delivery.

If we find that a product has become damaged during our delivery, we will attempt to find a replacement before completing the delivery. If you find the contents of your order is incorrect, we will of course, pick up the items and correct them. We will contact you if we encounter any issues prior to delivery.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

 

6. Depleted Stock

In some cases we may find we have run out of a certain product, or have too little stock to provide the quantity ordered, if this happens we will seek to offer an appropriate substitute of equal or reasonable higher value without any additional cost to the customer. If we are not able to contact the customer prior to making the delivery, we will replace the item with the most similar product we have and the customer shall be given the option to switch. We can also delay all or part of the delivery until we have the item in stock.

This information is under constant review, we therefore reserve the right to change these policies at any time and retract offers at any time without prior notice.
